The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Berry’s Farm Shop and The Cholmeley Arms on Tuesday 29th November 2011.

John and Lesley showed Their Royal Highnesses around the farm shop, with a detour to see the pigs, and the pub, where the Royal couple met regulars, staff and family. They also presented John and Lesley with a commemorative Barrel top and signed their names in a photograph album.

As Lesley said, in the Grantham Journal “He was just great and really put us all at ease. They are a lovely couple."

The visit came about through the Pub is the Hub, an organisation initiated by the Prince in 2001, which is affiliated to His Royal Highness's Rural Action Programme. As a 'not for profit' advisory organisation, Pub is The Hub encourages local authorities, local communities, licensees, pub owners and third sector organisations to work together to support, retain and locate services within rural pubs.

Pub is The Hub helped with advice on the development of Berry’s Farm Shop at the Cholmeley Arms which was also supported by Lincolnshire County Council.
